QSplitter normally resizes the children only at the end of a resize operation, but if you call setOpaqueResize( TRUE ), the widgets are resized as often as possible. The initial distribution of size between the widgets is determined by the initial size of each widget. You can also use setSizes() to set the sizes of all the widgets. When it returns, the event filters and/or the object itself have already processed the event. For many event classes there is a function called isAccepted() that tells you whether the event was accepted or rejected by the last handler that was called. postEvent() posts the event on a queue for later dispatch. The next time Qt's main event loop ... 2020-01-22 · AnchorLayout does not inherit QLayout. The AnchorLayout class I have implemented does not inherit QLayout. It makes use of event-filters to look up resize events and recalculates placement of anchor-lines. Each anchor-line then cascades its placement to other anchor-lines connected to it. Recursively the entire widget UI is placed and sized. We also provide an event handler for resize events. This allows us to update the mask if the clock is resized. Since the window containing the clock widget will have no title bar, we provide implementations for mouseMoveEvent() and mousePressEvent() to allow the clock to be dragged around the screen.

It is never necessary to repaint a widget in a resize event since Qt always sends a paint event after the resize event when a widget has been resized. CustomWidget also receives mouse press, move and release events like this: Qt provides thread support in the form of basic platform-independent threading classes, a thread-safe way of posting events, and a global Qt library lock that allows you to call Qt methods from different threads. This document is intended for an audience that has knowledge of, and experience with, multithreaded applications. Unfortunately this only works, if the form has no buttons and other controls. If the form has other controls and one of the controls has the focus, then it does not work. There is no interface in the QT component to globally intercept key events yet, but there is a trick: If you have a menu in your form, its keyboard shortcuts are globally managed.

However since the layout is built before the event loop, I'm not sure how to edit the element padding/size after the window is read. With PyQT you can use what's called "spacers" that automatically contract/expand based on window size so just wondering if there was something similar in PySimpleGUI. The buttons are not put in a layout; instead, we will position them manually in the Plotter's resize event. Since we are not using any layouts, we must specify the buttons' parent explicitly by passing this to the QToolButton constructor.
